When piglets fail to grow on a CAFO (concentrated animal feeding operation), workers “cull” the runts with an electric shock. Early in the summer of 2020, Elton was too small for the workers to bother with. Elton was electrocuted in an attempt to take his life, but he did not die. The worker told our staff that he was unable to shock Elton again and instead the worker took him home. He reached out to the Haven to see if we would welcome him, and of course we said YES! Elton is best buds with Willow, and they love mischief and raucous adventures!
Your sponsorship of Elton will help us ensure that he has enough healthy food to feed his belly, medical care when needed, and a warm place to sleep at night. Elton enjoys sharing with his friends. So if there are extra funds leftover, we will use them to help care for his friends at the Haven. We will send you periodic updates about Elton (delivered to your email inbox).
